RECORD RATING GUIDE
VINYL
Sealed - Still in factory shrink wrap and assumed mint condition.
Near Mint - We don't use Mint unless the record is sealed. Near Mint is an opened record with a couple scuffs at most and vinyl is very shiny. Label is also clean and bright with no marks.
Excellent/EX - Vinyl has a scuff or two or a very light scratch or two/sleeve rub that should not interfere with play. Vinyl is shiny and label is clean with no markings.
Very Good +/VG+ - A few very minor scratches or scuffs that should have little effect on sound. Vinyl still looks good and shiny. Label may have minor imperfections or writing.
Very Good - Vinyl has some obvious scratches and scuffs that may cause minor surface noise but no skips. Label may have damage but is readable.
Good - Vinyl has deeper scratches that would probably cause pops and hisses but no skips if we played it. Label may have significant damage.
Poor - Only rarely would we even sell a record in this condition. Very rough, with skips and/or very defaced label.
COVER
Sealed - Still in shrink wrap and as new.
Near Mint - Cover has very minor imperfections, and artwork is still perfect.
Excellent/EX - Cover has minor corner creases, impressions and/or light ring wear. Artwork still clean.
Very Good +/VG+ - Cover has heavier ring, corner or seam wear and possibly a very small split starting. Artwork shows slight wear or marks.
Very Good - Cover shows wear. Seams may have obvious splitting or have been taped. Obvious ring and corner wear. Cover may have discoloration or other scratches that damaged the artwork.
Good - Seams are split, lots of ring wear, tape, cuts, or other damage to the cover or artwork.
Poor - Again, only rarely would we sell a record with a cover worse than Good.
